Neretve Delta, Croatia, 9th – 11th December 2016
This congress gathers experts, enthusiasts, and representatives of organizations in the field of environment protection, education, culture, art, lawyers and representatives of institutions for the preservation of nature. The congress should answer the following questions: Which conventions and current laws preserve the rich heritage of the delta of the Neretva river from economic and touristic exploitation? In which way can the local population be included in the decision making process with regard to natural heritage management for the purpose of protecting the natural resources which it uses and benefits from? In what way can citizens be educated by adapting to their age groups? What are the possibilities, responsibilities and obligations of individuals, associations, organizations and/or institutions regarding the protection of their own habitat? How much can art, art organizations, institutions in general perform regarding the process of protection and renewal of natural resources, especially in cooperation with the local authorities and local population who own these resources? In what way can citizens be educated with regard to smart management of natural resources in private ownership and the influence of such management on the global healthy environment? What are the examples of good practice?
This interdisciplinary congress should be the place for sharing experiences but also by applying the acquired knowledge, we should become aware of the importance of the large natural resources and the diversity of the Neretva Delta. We should also enforce our personal understanding about the values of pristine nature and its, albeit limited regeneration and of course become aware of the importance of lifelong learning about the afore-mentioned and linked topics.
Official languages of the Congress are English and Croatian.

The PowerProgressiveArt association facilitates specific platforms for creating and conducting projects for the research, protection and presentation of the cultural, historical and natural heritage of Europe through exhibitions, performances, workshops, lectures, creative education and educational projects as well as interdisciplinary congresses. We produce and present methods for the local development through culture, art, science and education in cooperation with institutions and organizations in culture, education, institution of public policy, entrepreneurs and private employees in Croatia and Europe. We want to awaken a general and healthy interest in the rich and unused potential of cultural and natural heritage of Dalmatia, Croatia and Europe and in that way operate on a unique platform of common and noble activities.
On The Art, Science and Education Platform – Powerweb:
PowerProgressiveArt connects people and establishes cooperation – Powerweb – through art ,science , culture and the natural heritage of Croatia, Europe and the world. We create innovative projects on archeological sites, areas of special cultural and natural value and null-category monuments.
This year’s Art, Science and Education Platform shall be realized during a period of a few months and we have dedicated the majority of the program to artistic events. We shall conduct educational projects in cooperation with the schools from September 2016 until April 2017. A series of scientific lectures will also take place during that period and The International Interdisciplinary Congress is scheduled to take place on December 9th,10th and 11th 2016 at a few partner locations in the delta of the river Neretva.
In September of 2015 within the framework of The Rendez-vous Festival of France in Croatia we created THE INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL PROJECT INSPIRED BY THE CLASSICAL PERIOD in which we put an emphasis on the impressive sculpture exhibition entitled Ritus celebrandi in Diocletian’s substructures and The International Scientific-Professional Congress: Heritage and local development-a partnership between the copartners of public policies in cooperation with the association Prokultura and the Office of the State Administration of the Split-Dalmatia County in Split and in cooperation with numerous institutions in Croatia and abroad.
In November of 2015, established the independent The Art, Science and Education Platform by opening three art exhibitions (The Metkovic Museum of Natural History, The Narona Archeological Museum, The Metkovic City Cultural Center), by presenting projects, products, workshops and services of civil initiatives, elementary and high schools and finally The Interdisciplinary Congress under the common title: The Cultural Heritage of the Deltas.
At the site of ancient Narona, conduct artistic and educational projects based on the protection of the natural and cultural heritage which the location itself emphasizes. Until 2014 we conducted the Salona artistic workshop and organized numerous international lectures of experts in archeology, art history, preservation and ecology.
Since 2011 have successfully been cooperating with elementary and high schools as well as universities, therefore the PowerProgressiveArt activity including its educational projects has been implemented in school curriculums.
